Learn How To Spice Up your Open Guitar Chords

Learn how to take the basic beginner guitar chords that you probably already know and add some new color to them with this free beginner guitar lesson.

In the following lesson, David Taub from Next Level Guitar demonstrates how to change things up a bit and make your basic chords a bit more interesting and enjoyable to play.

He begins by taking an ordinary D Major Guitar Chord played on the 2nd fret and demonstrates how simply removing or adding fingers can completely alter the sound of a chord or melody adding a new dimension to your guitar playing.

He then repeats the process with an A Minor Guitar Chord, then a C Major Guitar Chord and so on.  The possibilities are endless!  This is a great exercise that may even inspire you to write your own songs.

So you see, beautiful sounding music doesn’t always have to be difficult to play.  Simple little movements can bring fresh new sounds.  See what new melodies you can come up with after watching this video!  I hope you enjoy!
