Learn how to play the song “Jumper” by Third Eye Blind with this easy acoustic guitar song lesson.  This song was released in 1997 off their self titled album, “Third Eye Blind”.  It was written by the groups lead singer, Stephen Jenkins.   You can learn more about this song over at Wikipedia.

The chords you are going to need for this particular lesson are all easy beginner chords that you should be familiar with and they are:  Fmaj7, C Major, G Major, A Minor and  Dadd9.   Click the links above for lessons on how to play each of these chords.

The strumming pattern is: DDD UDUDD U,  where U = Up and D= Down.

Learn how to play the song You and Your Heart by Jack Johnson with this free acoustic guitar lesson.  This song is off of Jack’s fifth studio album “To the Sea“, which was released in May of 2010.  ”You and Your Heart”  was released on the radio prior to the album release in April of 2010.  You can learn more about this song over at Wikipedia.

I have seen a number of different versions of this song and to be honest I am not positive as to which one is accurate. I can say that Marty’s version below is geared toward beginners and sounds pretty close to the original.  When you break this song down and  digest one section at a time, its actually fairly easy to play.  Marty Schwartz, the instructor in the video lesson below, will break everything down step by step, including the strumming pattern and chords.

The chords you will need to know for this particular version of the song are: A Major, G Major, D Major and E Major.

For the most part, this is a fairly easy acoustic guitar song to play. There are only two parts to this song that may give you some trouble at first.  The first is the strumming pattern as it is played rather fast. Its a little tricky, but with practice you can do it.   The pattern as taught in the lesson below is: Down Up Down Up Up Up Up Down Up.  Marty breaks that down slowly for you in the lesson.  The other tricky part is the switch over to the B Major Chord.  Now if you aren’t able to play this chord just yet, you can substitute it with an easier power chord or a B7 chord.  Do not rush through this song. Play it very slowly until you can switch between chords without error, then you can gradually increase the tempo.
