How To Use a Shortcut Capo – Beginner Acoustic Guitar Lesson

Here are two awesome video guitar lessons on using a Shortcut Capo (Also known as a Partial Capo) from Randall Williams, who is an instructor over at JamPlay. Not familiar with JamPlay yet?  Shame on you!

JamPlay is a membership only service which broadcasts high-definition video guitar lessons. They teach by “lesson set” instead of just flopping out a ton of small video clips. They start with the very basics like tuning your guitar, finger placement, and basic chords, and move on to finger-picking, palm muting, hammer ons, pull offs, and many more advanced topics as you progress through the lessons. When you have time, I highly recommend you check them out!  Click here to visit JamPlay.

Back to this lesson on using a Shortcut Capo. In these video lessons, Randall introduces us to this really cool tool and also demonstrates how to play several chords. He also shows us how to play a really cool song by The Beach Boys using just three very simple chords.

I am quite familiar with a regular 6 string guitar capo as I use one all the time.  They are wonderful tools that instantly change the key of your guitar, but I never used a Shortcut-Capo before. I will be picking one up shortly!  This lesson is perfect for the absolute beginner or for those of you who just want to try something fresh and new.
