Advanced Acoustic Guitar Lesson – Learn How to Play Hotel California
Hotel California by the Eagles is undoubtedly one of the greatest classic rock songs of all time and one of the Eagles most popular songs. Hotel California is the title song from the album of the same name and was released as a single in 1977. When people think of the Eagles, the first song to come to mind will probably be this one.
This song has a number of accolades attributed to it:
- Hotel California was on the Bilboard Hot 100 list for one week in 1977.
- It was certified Platinum in 2009
- The eagles won a grammy for best record of the year with thier release of Hotel California back in 1977
- It’s number 49 on Rolling Stones Greatest Songs of All Time List.
With all that being said, it is no wonder why so many guitarists find this song irresistible. This song is definitely an advanced guitar song and probably a song beginners will find challenging.
These video lessons below represent only one way of playing this song. It is definitely the easiest way in my opinion as it uses a capo and thereby avoids the complicated barre chords, so it may be within reach of beginner guitarists after all. Who knows, you decide!
