Paramore The Only Exception Guitar Tutorial

Learn how to play the song “The Only Exception “ by Paramore with this free beginner guitar lesson. This song was written by the American rock Band Paramore from Tennessee, formed back in 2004. It was released as a single off of their 2009 album Brand New Eyes.  It was written by Hayley Williams, Josh Farro and Taylor York.  To date, this has been Paramore’s top performing single having topped the charts in the UK .  It performed well in New Zealand, Australia and the United States as well.   You can learn more about this song  by visiting Wikipedia.

The video lesson below is another great one by Marty Schwartz as he demonstrates two different ways to play this song. One for advanced players without a capo and the other for beginners with a capo.  If you aren’t familiar with a capo follow this link for a lesson on how to use a capo.

For the beginner lesson, you will need to use the capo on the 4th fret.  The basic guitar chord shapes are:  G Major, D Minor, CMaj7, A Minor, D Major and C Major.
