Easy Guitar Song – “Old Man” by Neil Young
Here is another great song for you to learn. It is called “Old Man” by Neil Young. Neil Young was inspired to write Old Man after he purchased Broken Arrow Ranch in Northern California back in 1970. Old Man was released as a single back in 1972 and eventually made it to #31 on the BIllboard Hot 100 list. It is from the album Harvest. You can learn more about the history behind this song by reading the article over at Wikipedia.
I labeled this song “easy” as I feel, with a bit of dedicated practice, a beginner will be able to play this song. The lesson I found on YouTube simplifies the song even further for beginners. I have included a video lesson and the original song as performed by Neil Young below.
The chords you will need to know for this song are: D Major, A Minor 7, G Major, F Major (Click here for an easy way to play F Major) and C Major.
Enjoy this one and happy guitar playing. Rock On!
