I know they make special strings for acoustic-electric guitars, but I own an ovation acoustic-electric guitar and I put regular acoustic strings on mine and they sound great.  I would not recommend however, that you put electric guitar strings on your acoustic-electric guitar.  I hope that helps..</description>
