Hey guys
]
Im learning to play guitar and for me the key thing that seems to be MISSING in most of these notes is the RYTHM. It would be great to know the best way to strum or pick for these songs as I am not yet skilled enough to make them up myself

The first song I learned was House of the Rising Sun. It’s a pretty simple song and was the first my teacher taught me to learn how to play by ear. The second was Take it Easy and I see it’s on your list.
Nice site!

@sara i too am just beginning guitar, but something that i noticed while learning the basics is this…. when you strum a chord with a downstroke, you will primarily hear the G, B, and E strings ring out. ( the highest strings on a 6 string guitar) however if you strum with an upstroke the LOW E, A, and D strings ( or lowest pitched strings) will be more dominant. listen to these songs on youtube or pandora, wherever and you should be able to pick out the strum patterns with no problem.

The easiest song I learned in guitar class was a folk song called, “Mercedes” by Janis Joplin.

Another great classic is Tears in Heaven.

I think come as you are is one of the easiest songs to play. It only had 3 notes with frets.
