You’re Beautiful Guitar Lesson

April 26, 2010 By rserpe 3 Comments

Here is an easy romantic song you can learn on guitar to impress your significant other. This song is called “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt, and I am pretty sure you are familiar with it. “You’re Beautiful” was written by James Blunt, Sacha Skarbek and Amanda Ghost. It is from Blunt’s debut album, “Back to Bedlam”.  It was released as his third single from that album in 2005.  You can learn more about this song over at Wikipedia

Now back to your romantic guitar lesson.  This song is played with a capo on the eight fret.  Not sure what a capo is or how to use one?  Click here for an instructional post on how to use a guitar capo. Now there are a number of different versions of this song floating around the Internet, but I believe the video lesson below sounds the closest to the original .  You be the judge..

The chords shapes you will need to know in order to play this song are: G Major, G/F#,  E Minor 7 and CAdd9.  Don’t let the names of these chords scare you away.  They are a lot easier than they look.  In fact, you don’t even need to move your pinky and ring finger at all to switch between each chord.  Click each hyperlinked chord above for a lesson on how to play each chord. The one chord above that is not hyperlinked, the G/F#, I do not have a lesson prepared just yet.  Marty does a great job of demonstrating how to play this chord in the video tutorial below.
